[/u] catch it. So, if you want it, don't faint it.RULES
#1 - There should not be any content above PG13. There should not be any foul language (vulgar words) or sexual situations.
#2 - Everyone hates Mary Sues and god-modding. This means, no perfect characters, no ultra-powerful beings, and no posting the reactions of other people's characters. (Example: "Char A's Pikachu shot out a huge blast of lightning that zapped Char B's Piplup and weakened it considerably." OR "Char A's Pikachu shot out a huge blast of lightning that Paralyzed Char B's Piplup.") You can never assume your attack hit, UNLESS it is an 'never miss' attack, and even then you cannot predict how the Pokemon will handle it. They could shrug it off easily for all you know.
#3 - Stick to your character's personality. If your character is someone shy, your character should not be going, 'YO! WAZZUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP!' Mainly because that would be wrong and no one does that. It's freaky.
#4 - You cannot have any Legendary Pokemon right off the bat. Sorry, those are the breaks. However, there are special events for being able to meet and even use these Legendary Pokemon yourself. SO it's not a total loss. But think about it, if they weren't rare people would take on the elite four screaming, 'Go Arceus!' or something like that. There is a list of currently still available Legendary Pokemon below.
#5 - Every new character will start out with 2000 PokeDollars ($). If you battle with a trainer you get $100 plus 50 x the number of Pokemon you battled. For example, if you defeated a trainer that had one Pokemon, you'd get $100 plus 50 x 1 = $150. If your opponent had six Pokemon, you'd get $100 plus 50 x 6 = $300. You will not lose money because you'd become broke, and that wouldn't be fair. There are PokeMarts in every town/city except for New Bark Town, Littleroot Town, Pallet Town, and Twinleaf Town.
#6 - As you travel alongside with your Pokemon, your Pokemon will start to gain EXP points, Happiness Points, and Appeal Points. These will increase after battles, events, and grooming respectively. The outcome all battles is decided by who gave a better RP (We need detail!) while being realistic. You can't expect a Squirtle to beat a Raichu by using Bubble, right? We will try to trust the Users on this, but please contact a MOD for any disagreements. Each Pokemon will have these 3 Gauges to monitor their growth. More on this is in Growth & Development.
#7 - Of course, your Pokemon are allowed to learn TMs, but don't go overboard. We do not want to see a new trainer to go, 'Bulbasaur, here! Learn Solarbeam!' Perhaps after a couple of Gym battles (and winning, of course), it might learn. The Pokemon already in your party can learn any TM you want them to. However once you begin roleplaying, you cannot change their moveset unless your Pokemon 1) levels up to a new move or 2) learns another TM found in the roleplay. There is no maximum amount of moves, but again, please keep it realistic.
#8 - Whenever you beat a gym leader, you get $1000 (they are much harder than in the games) You can choose to get a TM of the gym leader's choice, or a Pokemon of that Gym's speciality! (Gym Leaders are not to be stingy, you can give the trainer something lousy like Hidden Power. Perhaps if you beat Sabrina, you could get Pyschic or something.) If you wish to be a Gym Leader, you must be a good RPer, and sign up in the 'Characters' topic. Until then, Bynd will play all leaders. There will be a list of Gym Leaders at the bottom.
#9 - NO FREEBIES!! As nice as we are, we will never give them so openly, so don't take advantage of her or else Bynd will hunt you down, while I will provide her with axes, maces, and all kinds of weapons, including Rocket Launchers. (Example: You can't make us make Lugia appear and let you catch it by throwing one Pokeball. That's just impossible.)
#10 - It is alright to have more than one character. However, it is mandatory to create a separate account for each character to avoid confusion. The username should be the character's name or nickname (you can change it if you've already registered in a pen-name). If you are wondering, it's fine to create multiple accounts using the same e-mail & password combination, so you don't have to worry about remembering 50 different passwords.
#11 - Bynd or any other moderator/administrator will determine if your Pokemon is ready to evolve. As it battles, its EXP Gauge will increase and every time it fills your Pokemon increases a level. The Gauge goes by tens, so a MOD will post after a battle if your Pokemon has made the next 10%. If the Pokemon evovles through happiness, then it will be from a scale of 1-10 on the Happiness Gauge. If it evolves by Beauty it's on the Appeal Gauge. Stones you need to find on your own.
#12 - When you want to capture wild Pokemon, go somewhere and RP looking around that area (please put WILD in the topic as well). A MOD will get around to you shortly and post what Pokemon appears. It is your own responsibility to battle this Pokemon correctly. When you throw the Pokeball, Bynd or any other moderator will decide whether it is caught. If the Pokemon faints, you cannot, I repeat, CANNOT
#13 - The RPG mixes the entire world of Pokemon: Games, Manga, & Anime, so don't just assume because it's one way in the Game it can't be a bit different.
#14 - If you want to be a Gym Leader, you need not be the actual Gym Leader. You only need to use that Gym Leader's type. So if you want to be the Gym Leader of Pewter City, you don't have to be Brock/Forrest, just use their type of Pokemon (Geodude, Onix, etc).
#15 - You do not have to take the jobs listed. You don't need a Job at all, just put unemployed or unattached in your bio. Alternatively, you could have a job that's not on the list. This is a Pokemon WORLD after all, so if you want to be a Chef and run your own PokeResturant, go ahead. Or you can be a thief, or a PokeBarber or whatever it is you want. We're not here to limit your imagination.
#16 - We are a semi-literate to literate roleplay, which means everyone is expected to post with acceptable (not perfect) grammar and ranging from 200-500 words. Basically no chat-speak and keep your posts at least a little detailed. There is no maximum, but the absolute minimum word count is 200, and I would that most RPers will post in the three to four hundreds when not in writers-block.
#17 - Spell check. everyone doesn't like reading words that are mispelled. If you can't spell the Pokemon name, you could check it up on Serebii.net. But for basic words, like shoot, don't spell it as shote or something like that. I have installed a 'spell check' button, which is for you to spell check. Please make full use of it.
